The present article discusses the application of a new technology using solar photovoltaic (PV) cell coupled with membrane distillation (MD) in the desalination of tap water. Salinity decreases the palatibility of water and causes long-term health issues. MD is the most promising technology to provide safe and clean drinking water to households and for other applications in small quantities. It consumes less energy than the existing commercial brackish water reverse osmosis (RO; pressure- driven) desalination technology (48%) used for the production of drinking water. A large population in India relies on tap water, groundwater, surface water, deep well water and municipal water for drinking and domestic utilization. These sources are highly contaminated due to the presence of harmful metals like fluoride and arsenic causing serious health hazards. The present study compares water quality analysis by chemical methods of both RO and solar PV-driven MD technology. The quality of distillate obtained by MD is excellent and this has been proved by the results of chemical analysis of water. Thermal efficiency of MD operating with solar PV cells and others operated purely by conventional mode is calculated and the results are compared. The study shows higher production of drinking water for solar PV-driven MD.Keywords

Silica sands of commercial value occur as patches of varied areal extent along the coast near Marakkanam in Tamil Nadu north of Pondicherry. There are many geomorphic features here. A study of these landforms and the deposits is attempted with a view to bring out the possible relationship between the geomorphic features and the deposits. Keywords

Association rule mining is to find association relationships among large data sets. Mining frequent patterns is an important aspect in association rule mining. Most of the popular associationship rule mining methods are having performance bottleneck for database with different characteristics of data such as dense vs. sparse. In this paper, an efficient algorithm named Temporal FP-Tree (Frequent Pattern-Tree) algorithm and the FP-tree structure is presented to mine frequent patterns, conditional pattern bases and sub- conditional pattern tree recursively .This algorithm is used to mine frequent patterns from temporal database and it needs limited memory space. When dataset becomes dense it can be scaled up to large database by partitioning it, conditionally temporal FP-tree can be constructed dynamically as part of mining. Keywords

A temporal association rule is an association rule that holds during specific time intervals. The problem is to discover complete set of frequent patterns with respect to calendar schema from a set of time stamped transactions. This paper uses the data structure H-struct (Hyper-structure) of Hmine-rev, and incorporated temporal aspects and it is called T-Hmine-rev (Temporal-Hmine-reverse). Hmine-rev is a revised algorithm of H-mine (Hyper-structure mining) which is used for mining frequent patterns and it does not need any adjustment of H-struct links structure like H-mine. Hmine-rev works well on sparse dataset and H-struct is used for fast mining on time-based dataset. Keywords

Background/Objectives: To analyze the behaviors of Leaf Cutter Ants and develop Bio-inspired intelligent communication mechanism for Research in Computing. Findings: In this research, the decision making realizations of the foraging ants are methodologically ascertained, collected and imported. Researchers have come across streaks of emergent patterns pertaining to foraging. It can be estimated in brevity that colonial ants possess or are guided by some feedback loops - positive or negative, coupled with individual responses arbitrated by social behavior of foraging ants and justifiable integrations of effacing local information during the phase of food collection after scrutiny and analysis of colony conditions. Applications/Improvements: The behavioral demeanor of ants relies largely on community building and prosperity, rather than individual optimization. The ants can sense and act differently when they understand that they are being scrutinized. Moreover, the intriguing art of surviving amongst weird environs of harmful parasites merely with the aid of Streptomyces can also be artificially implemented for the benefit of humankind in its entirety. Keywords

Background/Objectives: To analyze the functions and merits of web service composition and provide services to many number of users at a time. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The standard-based approach whichused to connects the web service to create the business processes which are of higher level. There are various approaches for composing the web services.Web service integrates various web applications by using languages namely WSDL, XML, WSFL etc. Findings: In this research, Web Service Composition (WSC) aims to organize numerous services to fulfill the user needs. It is one of the flexible way of integration of applications and resource sharing. The algorithm used by web service composition are Evolutionary algorithm, Ant Colony Optimization, Genetic algorithm, Particle Swarm algorithm, Branch and Bound for Execution Plan Selection (BB4EPS) algorithm, Join-Idle-Queue (JIQ) algorithm and Two-phase algorithm. Through the web service leads to provide services to more than single user. Applications/Improvements: When solving the web service composition problem, composing a sequence of web services is converted into finding a chain of actions. Automated planning technique uses two steps for web service composition dynamically. In this approach, WSC problem is taken as input and translated into WSC planning problem. Web service composition explore their functions through the online process and business needs. Keywords
